Camron Fredlund received a BFA in sculpture from the Cleveland Institute of Art in Cleveland, OH with a focus on functional design. He studied architecture and furniture design in Copenhagen, Denmark. He traveled throughout Scandinavia visiting artisans and furniture designers and developed an in-depth knowledge of pastoral as well as mid-century modern architecture and furniture.
Camron grew up as an apprentice in his father’s shop Crete Wood in Brier, WA. He has worked independently designing and building furniture in addition to working as a finish carpenter for Crete Wood and Birdseye Building, a custom homebuilder in Richmond, VT. He also studied wooden boat design at the Rockland Apprentice Shop in Rockland, ME. Camron and his wife Polly live in the Mt. Baker neighborhood in Seattle with their two daughters Sigrid and Louisa and family dog Flip.
Richard Fredlund ran a small custom home-remodel business Crete Wood out of Brier, WA for over thirty years. He is experienced in every aspect of home building from design through construction, and is excited to start this next venture Blue Cabin Builders with his son Camron.
Richard is a master composter-recycler through WSU Extension Program and is a committed steward of the Puget Sound watershed. He is an avid cyclist, bike mechanic, and coffee connoisseur, and lives in Woodinville, WA with his wife Nancy and their dog Stanley. Together they can often be heard talking about the life and times of their five granddaughters who live in Santa Monica, Seattle, and Chicago.
